Let's Prolong the Reign of the KING of the Jungle!

Tigers are amongst the 10 most endangered species in the world. These magnificent creatures are the largest members of the felines family, however they are on the brink of extinction. We have already faced the disappearance of over 97,000 tigers and tiger populations are still plummeting to a shocking low.

Compared to 100,000 a century ago, as few as 3,200 tigers cling for survival in the wild.
As one can see there are very few tigers still prowling around our vast planet, as only 3 out of the former 9 species of tigers are in existence. Unfortunately, this situation is predicted to continue to disintegrate, as it reported that by 2022, these prestigious animals may vanish from the face of this earth.
VANISHING  TIGERS?

Tigers have been hunted to extinction by poachers for trade of tiger parts. Subsequently, humans have caused tigers to disappear from 93% of their former habitat, through illegal logging and commercial plantations. In some cases these creatures have been hunted as a form of a sport and are being captured and breed on tiger “farms”.  If these unmoral practises continue, the extinction of tigers will be inevitably approaching within a few decades. However, action can be taken and the extinction can be avoidable.

Thankfully, the World Wildlife Foundation has come to the rescue to help bring hope to the diminishing tiger population. This organization was establish in 1961 and has joined up with local and global, non-profit organizations to accomplish its focal goal of preserving our biodiversity. Thus, in response to urgency of the crisis, WWF has launched the Tx2 campaign, one of the many initiatives that have protected wildlife. The Tx2 campaign hopes to DOUBLE the number of tigers in the wild by 2022. Tx2 has set many goals to help make this initiative a success; however the main focus is based on:
·    STOP THE BLEEDING: heighten anti-poaching measures, maintain and enforce laws banning tiger products and increase awareness campaigns against the trade of tiger parts.
·     PROTECT TIGER HABITAT: by bringing stability to their environment.  Encourage plantations to implement sustainable practises that reduce habitat destruction and degradation.
·    SECURING POLITICAL FUNDING AND COMMMITMENT: from world leaders to assist with the Tx2 campaign.

Hopefully this initiative will help ensure that viable populations thrive long into their future.

HEALTHY TIGER POPULATION = HEALTHY ECOSYSTEMS
Tigers are a vital part of the ecosystem, and a major link in the food chain. All living creature on earth depend on one another for survival. We as human beings must do anything in our power to promote the biodiversity of our fragile environment. Therefore, it’s time to take action and help protect the few tigers that we have left. With the efforts of both WWF and mankind, we will be able to save the KING of the jungle. The WWF is hoping to reinstate what we have destroyed and positively contribute to the diversity of our ecosystem because even though the tiger looks powerful and intimidating, they are not strong enough to win this battle alone!
